It’s trivial to make the battery thicker to match the camera bump. Thin phones have thin camera bumps that still stick out, it’s totally a design choice.

I’ve never had an issue with the camera bump tbh
Pretty sure it only affects those who go commando with their phone and don’t use a case.
Problem is, cases dont even handle it anymore. The bumps are too big that you are gonna need a thick case.
Samsung S23-24 is a good example of an acceptable bump, a case flattens that out and isnt bulky.
I actually rather like having tactile feedback when I’m being a fat fuck and covering the lens with my finger
It doesn’t have to be 2 meters thicc tho, even just a few mm around the camera will do
