I imagine there are 3d printed case replacements that can take the internals and snap together bada-bing!
There’s at least one! I sense I’ll probably be printing one of those in the relatively near future.
With DS consoles the hinge will make that quite complex unfortunately. But there are replacement shells.
Putting on a new top screen SUCKS though.
In the case of NDS consoles, replacing the affected shell with a third-party replacement is still a viable option today
