I feel compelled to share a gaming goof of my own:
Having come from Morrowind, I didn’t realize Oblivion had a fast travel system until WAY later in the game. I felt totally dumb for having missed that somehow.
On the plus side, my athletics level became alarmingly high.
Games like these are better without fast travel anyway
Seconded. Oblivion even added horses to make terrestrial exploration faster, why not use them?
But an edge that Morrowind has over Oblivion (and Skyrim) is that it has so many more small settlements dotted around the map that act as travel nodes. Skyrim at least added cart travel between cities, but we’re talking less than 10 travel nodes compared to over twice that many in Morrowind (not even counting the Propylon network).
Not just horses, but horse armor!
yes… fast travel makes the world non existent.
Morrowind has fast travel (sortof). It’s called “Recall”.
It’s a difficult game, of course a journalist will struggle with it!
