Sometimes I think that I’d like to buy a new PC

then I remember that the majority of my hours played is on titles that don’t need a better PC

This isn’t the 90s / 2000s when games were scarce and you needed to upgrade to have something to play because new stuff was so much better. There are tons of very good games out there that will most likely run on everything.

    Good games I played recently-ish:

    • Balatro (casual 600 hours total)
    • Noita (maybe 500 hours though you wouldn’t be able to tell because I suck)
    • Guacamelee! (actually from my backlog)
    • Animal Well
    • Clover Pit
    • Cuphead (another backlog title)
    • Opus Magnum
    • Baba is you

None of this means that no good game requires good hardware, but there are lots of good titles to enjoy on absolute potatoes
