    Textile products often come out of the factory with an insane amount of synthetic chemicals that get absorbed through the skin, so washing clothes, bedsheets, etc is mandatory anyway.

    Just do the same. I don’t see the problem. Some time ago I bought a pack of “used” steel drinking straws. I think only the packaging was damaged and never actually used, not that it matters. Put them into the dishwasher, as I would have done anyway. Saved 60%.
