On the flip side, I’ve had to take a drug test for every single job I’ve ever had. Most are sales related. But I travel for work so I kind of understand the need 10 years ago when everything was illegal. Now that weed is mostly legal everywhere its pointless to even test for it.
I work with a vulnerable population. In addition to every job doing piss testing my fingerprints and DNA get recorded and checked against unsolved assaults / murders. Nothing ever comes up but I always worry I’m gonna be like the last person that touched a vase before the dude that bashed somebody’s head in with it and the dude who did it isn’t in any databases and I’m gonna have to answer a bunch of intrusive questions.

Anytime I have worked for fintech I’ve been tested and fully background checked every time, pretty annoying but the trade off is the pay I suppose
If I wanna buy blow in whatever city I’m visiting, I always ask a bartender or a waiter for a hook up.
It’s a rule I refer to as “industry standard”
