Active Matter from Gaijin Network Ltd looks like a lot of fun for fans of first-person shooters, but they soured it with a truly distasteful AI notice.
I dunno, I feel like “cultural appropriation” itself has been appropriated by people who are more against multiculturalism and mingling of ideas from many cultures than concerned about the culture losing anything. It’s kinda like “woke” at this point where it doesn’t really have a clear meaning but changes depending on who is using it.
Though I also reject the idea that any person or people can “own” or monopolize ideas and styles and that there’s anything wrong about others adopting them from outside their culture of origin, though they should be honest about it, like that the wood carvings they are trying to sell were mass produced in China and weren’t made by natives who wouldn’t back the claims about how it can improve your life even if they had made it. Also, it’s different if a style is adopted just for the sake of mockery and hatred.
Though based on the follow up messages in the OP, it looks like they are either really committed to the bit or are being serious, which is ridiculous.
