I wasn’t going to share the story because I felt it too dark. But a coworker years ago told me the first people he would kill in the “shit hits the fan” scenario is his neighbors because they would be the first to ask for help/target him.

The fact that a single nut job is out there thinking this was enough to adjust my stance on owning fire arms.

Well you may want to look up how gun control came to be a talking point, and why Fred Hampton was viewed as such a threat, he was murdered in his bed, next to his pregnant, sleeping wife (hint: youth breakfast and exercise program).

Gun manufacturers are a part of society, and a very rich part.

The entire world demands guns, and the USA provides. More than the top six suppliers combined (including China and Russia).

Every state in the union is part of the arms industry. Even Hawaii.

The entire world demands guns, and the USA provides.

Most of the guns used in crimes in Canada and Mexicr were smuggled in from the USA.

A truly moral society wouldn’t be providing the weapons that criminals demand.

Guns are a lot cheaper than you’d expect. An ar-15 is like $500 for a simple build. Most handguns are similar. The ones here are only expensive because they’re machine guns

And the mags are out, very likely all unloaded and chamber checked prior to staging this shot.

To me the scary thing is the idea of giving the uh, seemingly least physically strong person the Uzi.

Its not loaded, but theres a good chance this one is a pre-ban full auto, and those things kind of notoriously kick wildly on full auto if its 45acp or 41ae.

The pre-1986 ban M60 he’s holding and the BAR she has are 50-100K each.

If the FAL is full auto, it wouldn’t be that much less expensive.

        That’s a Thompson, not a BAR.

A BAR would be about the same size as the M60. BAR shoots 30.06 (7.62x63), actually longer rounds than the M60 (7.62x51), usually had a bipod, thing’s pretty big.

If she was holding a BAR in that same position, the barrel end and bipod would be on or past the hand of redshirt son behind her.

A Thompson on the other hand is a sub machine gun, 9x19, much closer in overall size to what we’d now call a carbine or short barelled rifle, its roughly M4 sized.

Hard to tell the exact variant but its likely either the WW2 era M1928A1 or M1A1, they simplified and reinforced some bits of the design compared to the old ‘Chicago Typewriter’ version, for mass wartime production.

I feel like if I explored the world the only photos you’d have of it are random ass birds, weird roadkill, and probably the inside of some Soviet bunker or some shit. I went to the grand canyon some years ago and the only video I took was of a goat at the flintstones thing and a squirrel tweaking out on the side of the cliff.

I did explore the world. This included war zones. I didn’t feel like making a selfie with a dead baby on the side of the road, to post it on my tinder profile with the text “I love traveling”. Or with someone’s head split open by a sniper shot, with the text “I guess we’ll eat shoarma tonight #localstreetfood”.

“I love exploring the world” basically means “I love to make selfie photo’s at tourist attractions to show off I make more money than you, while at the same time not giving a shit about the culture, the people, the history, the country I visit because those poor people are ewww”

Eh, I grew up doing shooting competitions as a kid. My grandfather was a semi-famous trick shooter back when that was a thing, so it was something I grew up doing.

I hunt too, meat prices are insane right now and a few deer go a long way when frozen or otherwise preserved right, I don’t mind having to butcher and dress it myself. I’m not gonna stop eating meat in this lifetime, them animals are way way too tasty.

I like guns, but this photo is cringe to me too. I’m a Fudd in the gun community. Revolvers, lever-action repeaters, and shotguns are all I mess with, and I’d be more than comfortable banning all high capacity guns.

Depends on where you live, how you grew up, and your hobbies.

I realize it’s a foreign concept to some who grew up in an urban/metropolitan area and are otherwise surrounded by concrete, buildings and lots of people.

I grew up with 3000 acres of woods behind my house. Didn’t own them but had unrestricted access. I like guns but despise people like the one in this image.

Right? No politician is your ally, they’re all just individual people. Sometimes the things those people do benefit you, sometimes they don’t. What matters is that you take advantage of the actions that benefit you when they happen to bubble up by coincidence. When the worst people you know start fighting with each other, for the love of God don’t get in their way.

Are they posing before they are going to do a family school shooting or something? This looks like a photo of white Al Qaida.

I don’t understand why they would do this. Like, posing for a Christmas photo, sure. But add murder weapons to it? What is the message? “We’re going to kill Christmas”, or “baby Jesus you’re going to get lead” or something? “Santa is flying through the air with his raindeers and it’s open hunting season” or “Christmas time is the purge time, we’re going on a murder spree”. The last one is the one I got from this photo the most.

There are strategic moments that make sense. Liz Cheney (with no actual policy compromises) saying basically that, “I’m a Republican but Trump is a national security threat so I’m voting Harris” is strategically sound. Those who know Trump is a threat were already voting Democrat. Those on the fence or sitting out may have been persuaded by this bipartisan act (even though we all know we wouldn’t want Cheney running domestic policy).

With respect to Massie, I’m glad he has carved out a sliver of morality on this one issue because Good vs. Bad isn’t boolean; it’s a gradient.

That said, there isn’t a race in the country for these midterms where the Republican is better than the Democrat on the ballot.

(Also, Massie like Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger before him, already lost his Primaries so won’t be in Congress anyway next year)

There are useful Republicans that we should try to take advantage of when we can though. This type of messaging is normally used to imply anything to do with them is evil, so don’t vote for anyone who cooperates with them ever. That’s dumb though. When they can be used to further our efforts, they should be used. We can still hold them accountable, but take advantage when they give an opening to be exploited. They certainly will.

I just can’t wrap my head around the people who say things like,“I’ve always been a Republican, my family has always been a Republican. I always vote Republican. I don’t agree with a single stance of the current Republican party, I think they are evil. But I have to continue to vote Republican because that’s what I do.” Like it’s harder to shake that yoke of being a Republican than it is to get away from Scientology or something.
