Tankies are not communists , they are delusional children , believing that hardcore autocracy can help getting to socialism. But in practice you get state funded oligarchy killing its people, arresting and disappearing its independent worker’s unions.

My grandfather was sent to gulag after soviets occupied baltic states, and he died presumably from starvation and overworking. Also there are examples of getting to planned economy without autocracy: Salvodor Allende’s Chile, anarchist societies in Ukraine in 30s, Yugoslavia (kinda), etc.
