In most cases, where you can independently verify facts on your own there’s no need to resort to an external authority. Particularly, when we’re asked to cease thinking and just rely on assumptions that other people might have made is particularly puzzling to me.
Do I expect that China will succeed generating excess power from D-T fusion eventually? Yes. Do I expect that it will be economical, ever? Hell, no.
