all debt is manageable when you’re too big to fail. just look at the national budget
I’m sure they can manage it if the company just borrows more to give them hundreds of millions in salary and bonuses. /s
I follow several creators who autopse failed companies. 4 out of 5 times it seems like a leveraged buyout. I have no idea why it’s legal anymore. Kmart is an example off the top of my head.
Private equity lives doing it. Take a moderately floundering company. Buy the company by leveraging the companies’ own value where the company has to pay it back. Square the company as much as possible, paying minimum payments and hoover all profits to the private equity firm. File bankruptcy and write off the company when its empty.
Kmart was fucked by the bizarre CEO of Sears.
Well daddy’s company’s credit rating is one step up from junk. If it slips further Oracle is fucked, and that’s even before the AI bubble goes pop. Still, I’m sure his son is a very smart self-made man and none of that will affect his company, right?
It’s been tried before: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Merger_of_AOL_and_Time_Warner
We could help make it unmanageable by refusing to give them any money.
Didn’t AT&T say the same thing?
