Just wondering as ive been told many os’s online and then told to not use certain one aswell, i feel confused on what linux os to try someday. i come from windows 10 and i always find i need windows on atleast 1 device, and put linux on the “outdated” devices, but i keep hoping around, i cant seem to make up my mind.

    Ubuntu is a solid option to start, and stay. Llm’s know it well, everything targets Ubuntu and the ecosystem covers server, workstation, IoT, containers and various architectures.

    For non-corporate stuff I’m a fan of the antiX and MX ecosystems, Debian with rims on and a lot of user choice, control and toolkits to make things easy to manage.

    I’d be wary of peeps saying ‘distro XYZ is shit’, try stuff and see what you think. Arch is a fragile restrictive toy ime, but loads seem to love it.

    If it’s just a basic workstation most distros likely fine, pick something you like the vibes of and see how you go.
