Ngl, this is a purely positive effect, to me at least

I never, ever, EVER even considered my…gametes (ewwww) as a valid way of having kids. It’s just not something my brain recognizes as an option, so removing that (almost) entirely is a good thing for me.
No shade to anyone tho! I totally get that some people want to and do have kids this way. More power to them! ❤️

I froze mine, kept it for a dozen years or so, then had the material destroyed after the storage clinic decided to double their annual storage charges. Went from $200/year for storage to $400 overnight, oh and they wanted to move from annual billing to a monthly thing via direct deposit.
Meanwhile, I was already at the point of thinking it was silly to keep those things stored. I froze right at the start of transition. But as transition went on my attraction shifted a lot. Ended up a post-srs trans woman married to a cis het guy. For several years I kept the material around “just in case,” even though we realistically would have just used his if we chose to go the surrogacy route. But at this point, we’re probably not going to have kids.
I was OK keeping the material on ice when it was easy and “just in case.” But they got greedy and wanted more money. But it ultimately made them go from $200/year to $0/year from us.
