Love or hate him (Hasan), his theory game is always on point. His actions within the Dem party are disappointing at the very least, I wouldn’t even say calling him a reformist is wrong. I do believe he is a genuine anti-imperialist and until he writes a book & runs for president I still like to believe his content has value.
His theory game is so strong that he used Lenin’s “Left wing communism” to justify voting for Graham Platner!

omg Did he actually? I missed that. Even so beyond the dumb shit he says he is very well read and he does know theory. I am also not claiming that I am very well read I’m talking about baseline. I am not well read whatsoever and my knowledge of theory is very weak. I work and I go home and I’ve tried to unionize and organize and have failed.
His rhetoric is better than anyone else’s in his position, that’s the only reason I give him the benefit of doubt. But like I said, he can be pretty awful. This new DSA arc is solidifying him as an elite IMO

I used to watch him a lot more but tbh there are far better content creators that cover the same stuff and they don’t ever really disappoint me with their rhetoric, Gotta remember at the end of the day these people are just entertainers and not revolutionaries; though that does not make them immune to criticism so on and so forth. Hasan supported a candidate that went on 4 combat tours in the Middle East, that guarded the Abu Ghraib concentration camp YEARS AFTER the human rights violations came out, that ran on the campaign promise of strengthening the Epstein military; and he only stopped supporting him when it turned out that the guy had raped an American woman.
He also broke BDS by going on Haaretz (where he condemned the Al-Aqsa Flood Operation), and he very recently retweeted Ziohran’s October 7th statement where the motherfucker literally mourns the dead IOF terrorists.
Not sure how he was before his collaboration with the DSA, but he’s certainly an American supremacist now.

The thing about Hasan specifically is that his rhetoric is usually 100% solid and very much something to appreciate, even within the DSA party lines, but you would be a Fool to believe that any of those guys (DSA) are real marxists or have interest in ending US hegemony. They’ve been sanctioned to hell, but by maintaining a nuclear-first doctrine they’ve been able to cut out their own sovereignty and maintain independence. This is being leveraged in the 2020s into increased trade with Russia and cooperation with China, and economic development. Each nation developing its own sovereignty needs to seriously consider pursuing nuclear deterrence to protect itself from imperialism, if it doesn’t have something like the Strait of Hormuz (which itself is a post-facto deterrence in practice).

The fact that their entire motor pool is kept in one place with no air cover and there is a handy three digit number that summons them to any location? The fact that drones are cheap, and one commie tech specialist could crank them out of any garage from basic parts?
In fact, think about quadcopter drones for a second. Who does their existence pose a bigger problem for: a shifting mass of dissidents who can blend in with the crowd and have no obvious high value targets, or a paramilitary force with fixed locations, vulnerable equipment stockpiles and known, uniformed personnel travelling alone in marked vehicles?

Before or after mass incarcerations of political prisoners? You’re not going to use Guerulla tactics to change the hearts and minds of the liberals across the country. Other counties have taken steps to prevent unregulated exploitation. They’re not perfect but it’s a step in the right direction.

I’m not particularly worried about the sequence. And I’m not convinced that most Liberals are all that gung ho about it, most just follow the cultural defaults. That can be changed inside a generation. And the US already has mass incarceration of political prisoners, so the overall per capita prison population would probably go down regardless.

Recently, in France, high school studient have revolted. The gouv sent them riot police, and stun grenades have made some of this kids loose an eye or a hand. In the next days, a riot policeman got caught too far from his line by some studients, who used ultra violence on him, kicking his face many times. That is how the gouv decided to remove the dangerous stun grenades.
As long as violence is the only way that works, violence is the way to use (unfortunately).

Of course police remain violent here too, with the wonderful umbrella of “so much less than in the US”. Here if the police kills a minor, their is a trial… that always gives police’s violence as legit and the death as an accident. At most the policeman killer could get a warning from the hierarchy.
The few remaining of free news and public opinion do all the pressure they can ; a video was released in the press, video made by the police, were officers instruct to shoot aiming the head of pacifist manifestants, and policemen joke trying their best to “kill one”. Over an hundred manifestants got serious injuries. Based on laws, that officer and the policemen should be fired, but there has been no output (not even a trial, not even a “sorry”).
I would prefer that politics push for justice, for social dialog, for (really) democratic processes of managing problems. And I am really sad to see that none of this works this days.
When the police (or public force) fear for their life, they come to a point they agree to avoid violences. If they renounce to free brutality, the gouvernment is often forced to discuss and to let the people have some power.
Nobody has yet lured any of their command structure into an ambush and stomped a mud hole in their chest. Americans are far too fucking domesticated, which is why step one of starting that revolution from the original comment is spreading class consciousness and making sure everyone understands that there is no possibility of voting away the fascism.
