Not satire. Most people I know can only buy 10000€ car. Myself included. Even less for some people. They are working like everyone and should have an option too.
So seing some privileged people saying that so cheap is an insult.
Mexico have release a car for 7000€. That more affordable. See ? Companies don’t make an effort.
Because costs of operation differ between countries so does regulatory burden and so does purchasimg power.
That said, 15k EUR are feasible and the 2CV is planned to be there.
The majority can in fact afford that, in the EU, not everyone of course. That is what the used car market is for. My parents never bought a new car in their life and were no worse off for it. Naturally as sufficiently good cost effective BEVs are a relatively new phenomenon the used car market is still underdevelopedand too expensive. This will change as supply increases.
