I have been injured many, many times, but after ‘Expendables,’ I ended up with nine back operations, three neck fusions. Both shoulders ripped out, eye, you know, all kinds of lens put … it’s been brutal,” he said, adding that he’s never been “quite the same” since the surgeries.

He was also pretty old when they did those movies, so it makes sense that the body didn’t “bounce back” as well as it would have when he was a young man.

Almost definitely less. They have way more training and experience in how to take a hit or fake taking it with as little damage as possible.

I don’t respect any action star that doesn’t do their own stunts, or at least most.

I’m very much the opposite here. Doing your own stunts is dangerous and often just not very smart.

There are people who have trained for yesrs to do stunts on movies safely, let them have the job and get paid.

Not to sound crass but if a stunt guy gets injured then he gets medical care and they keep going. If the lead actor gets injured the entire crew is out of a job and all of the hard working film set just doesnt get paid until that actor is able to film again.
