I look at the US where the Democrats are now talking like they should start abusing power like Trump is. I think the “both sides” arguments are generally false, but if both sides actually are abusing power, that makes that kind of narrative become true.
There is wisdom to “they go low we go high.” People are now talking like that’s weakness, but really it’s about distinguishing yourself from the other side. If everyone is going low, then what’s the point?
