Litterbox Is LitterRobot 4, recent upgrade. Much better for her asthma, she was fine with the previous generation for years prior but I wanted to get the Shield to prevent the spread of dust and irritants that Im certain were hurting both of us
- I turned it off and I’ll try just running it twice daily
- I swt up a seperate litter box for her in the hallway. I think I might have to put it inthe bedroom but for now its in the hallway by the door cuz I just canthave her pissing the bed again.
The Feliway should be here today so hopefully that helps relax her a and the other cat thats a bit of a guard hound and disturbingly aggressive to her.
There so many factors here and I’m just burnt out on all this.
-They’re (feliway and hills “prescription” multistress urinary care food) in the mail and coming but in the meantime i closed the bedroom door, trying to keep her cordoned on a corner of the couch where i can watch her
Is this ever gonna end?
- Can the enzymatic cleaner I used require to wash it too every time she pisses?
Im honestly at my breaking point here. I cant fucking handle an enemy within destroying my furniture and i just plopped my ass down unknowingly in to a fresh puddle of piss!

YMMV, but I’ve never found Feliway to be an effective solution. We tried it for a couple years with a cat that was a serial sprayer and it never helped at all. Every vet recommends it because it’s easy to get, but it’s also expensive and to my knowledge there is only one actual study that had both rigorous controls and showed a positive correlation between spraying behavior and use of synthetic cheek pheromones (Feliway). That one study involved only 22 cats, and the difference between the treatment and placebo groups wasn’t that great.
Fluoxetine (prozac) has been shown to be a much more effective treatment. If your problem persists, you might want to ask your vet about it.
This here is exactly what pisses me off about my vet and my biggest until now less than articulable concern.
I just figured out today the simplest and do no harmiest thing was to set up a simple temp (for now) extra litter box.
How hard would it have been for them to say: you’re cat’s pissing everywhere, its driving you insane, its gonna be some temporal divide between you being able to get the urine test sample back to us and diagnosis let alone not even actual treatment yet but even just the treatment plan, then oh ya we dont keep it in stock so no matter what you’re fucked for like a week or some shit until all this can happen and you finally have somewhat of a solution.
Meanwhile I was gonna have no peace or security in the interim. Seriously, like how ridiculous is althat 😮💨
My Job is to give them money. Their Job is to “got/have this”. Why is that jobsp hard this
I also will say that feliway did jack squat for my cat. I hate it when vets take a lazy response because nobody will ever argue against it.
Also, my cat was healthy, just an asshole. Some cats be like that. If I didn’t let him outside, he’d piss on the inside of the front door.
FWIW we had an anxious diabetic cat who temporarily benefited but the effect wore off over time.
