I absolutely hate that punk and screamo is the default “music” for anarchist celebrations/organizations.
Punk, diy, mutual aid are great and powerful philosophies of community togetherness… But they just don’t make/choose good music. It’s a real sore point for me, as these events are about bringing people together… And not about blasting them away.
They should do more ska playlists. Still punk philosophically, especially third-wave and later. But if anyone is repelled by ska music then I don’t know what to say to that because it’s like if honey was a sound

I want to find a group of anarchists who are all about ambient music, soft jazz, and psychedelics…
Screaming is a young person’s game.
You might want GodSpeed You! Black Emperor. They are anarchists.
Dead Flag Blues calls to me more and more every day
I guess you can have Chumbawumba?
You are NOT invited.
Lol. I’m not a fan, but they are one of the few non punk anarcho communist bands I know of.
does it have to be soft jazz? sometimes i like dancing
i’ve gotten really into the Alpha Rhythm Kings lately (Fil, their saxophonist, is inspiring. Also a really nice guy)
Not me, punk for life. I wanna die in the pit.
Ah, you want beatnicks.
No, those are lazy boomers.
I’m not big on psychedelics (unless THC counts), but I can put together a mean playlist of all the classics 😉
Folk punk was central to my introduction to anarchism. Rolled with riotfolk back in the day doing FNB back in the 2000s.

No thanks, I know my taste in music, and yeah it will line up with some people’s tastes.
