Him being the leader gives him the authority to steer the party. He can’t be rebuilding an NDP that’s going say in neoliberal direction under another leader. There wouldn’t be a point in doing that. For him. Or many of us who have contributed.
NDP should rebuild as party members and their elected leadership see fit. I’m not against that bit. I’m saying he shouldn’t stay away from the parliament for long. His haters and NDP opponents will hold it against him come election time.
