Republicans and Democrats do not control the media. Capitalists do, and capitalists also control the Republicans and Democrats. You are confusing state repression under capitalism with fascism itself. Capitalism is a brutal system all on its own, and would prefer to keep the bourgeois democratic shell as it’s the most stable and effective at maintaining their control. Capitalists rip off the mask of bourgeois democracy whenever their rule is in actual danger, regardless of the party in power, regardless of how legal or illegal it is.
Capitalists do these things, yes. My point is that the Republican party is much more friendly to Capitalists and their policies and much more influenced by them.
Why do you believe that? The Democrats are fully influenced by capitalists, just a different wing of the capitalist class. They have no binding responsibility to the working class, which is why they never protect us and barely give us crumbs. Capitalists control the commanding heights of the economy, and the state. Simple as that.
I figured you would not agree. I’m probably not going to change your mind on this in a forum thread if you don’t see the same pattern that I do in the historical and recent examples. I do appreciate hearing your thoughts on this matter so clearly though.
