    Users: We are putting our PFP as clippy because it symbolises a time where software worked locally and just wanted to help without spying on you.

    Microsoft: wow they love that lil clippy fella let’s make co pilot into a piss blob that floats around the screen spouting random facts its learnt from surveiling the users every move. It will be like their own personal FBI agent they will love it.

      I’m still not sure if Microsoft just doesn’t get it or if they just love making stuff nobody wants… but then again, nobody wanted clippy back then either. I’m not sure Mico will age as gracefully as Clippy did, though.

      I guess in a perfect world companies like MS or Google would get fined for wasting so many resources on shit they shut down a year later. Not saying Mico is gonna be one of those things of course, I would never!

      Bringing Clippy back as Copilot seems like the easiest, most obvious win Microsoft could get. I swear most of their customer facing decisions around stuff like this (and Xbox) are easy slam dunks that they fumble in the absolute dumbest fashion.
