    The larger security risk is running ANY router with proprietary firmware. All this says is the US is okay with US companies surveiling you, just not China. It’s just like with Tiktok. Suddenly because China is involved its a data security issue, even though companies like Meta syphon 1000x more data from consumers. There needs to BE legislation passed around data privacy and collection as a whole, instead of targeting any company involved with China. If it’s truly such a security issue, we need it resolved for all companies in the US.

    Dam, I dont use them, but was considering them since they have decent reviews and are one of the cheaper options. I still may use them for a switch I may need soon. I would imagine or hope that switches don’t have this problem. If they do thats crazy.

      Buy one that can be flashed with OpenWRT firmware. It’s extremely unlikely they’re doing anything super nefarious at the hardware layer.
