Anything you’re particularly excited about in the change log there, OP, or is this just release log dumping?

I think we should have a rule to allow this kind of post only with a small summary of the update. I like to see them but sometimes the changelog is not worth a post or at least I can save a click if I know it’s a small update with just some bugfix that doesn’t concern me.

There are so many posts like this that are not worth the click, and it’s getting pretty annoying. I would love a rule that says release log dumping is prohibited. I’m all for it. 🙋‍♂️

That’s not what I’m asking here, I’m asking you what you find interesting about the release. :D

Sharing release log is not all about what “I” find as interesting. It is rather a notification to all other users of the software that a list of new features or big fixes are now available.

Not all of us are actively tracking release cycle of tools we use.

Each of us have our own use cases. What I might find trivial, another person who frequent this forum might find really helpful.

If you are not interested in the same software or not intended to use it or not using it currently, feel free to skip the post.

That’s what package managers are for, though. Or add the GitHub repo to your RSS reader if you want the details.

Lemmy is a social media, like others have mentioned in this thread I don’t mind this type of post nearly as much if the person posting adds their opinion/analysis/summary.

Cool, what do you reckon will be the use cases for this? Do you intend to use it somehow?

Granular control of permissions which was not possible earlier. The main aspect of sandboxing is access control. More granular it is the better.
