Ouroboros is a type of all you can eat
The other day I experimented using an AI to troubleshoot a laptop issue I was having. It produced a detailed step-by-step guide which essentially boiled down to: install this software from the AUR and then make this edit to a config file. Being healthily skeptical of AI, I first searched the AUR for the software, which didn’t exist. I then went back to the AI and said “this doesn’t exist.” It then replied “You’re absolutely right, that’s not a real thing and editing the config file would do nothing.”
The experiment has concluded.
I’ve noticed that the AI answers on Google have become more and more like this in the last weeks. It usually just tells me how to find something. That said, I don’t use Google as my main search engine anymore. I’ve used DuckDuckGo for over a year. It’s… Fine.
I just ask random people on the street until I get an answer back that aligns with my preconceived notions.
I don’t like this internet tbh. I feel like there’s less to be learned.
When you say this internet are you referring to this internet we’re currently communicating on, the way that you search on this internet with duck duck go or me asking random people until I find the answer to what I’m looking for?
I mean this part of the internet we’re currently communicating on is fine but the “explorable internet” sucks. Asking random people is the reasonable thing to do when no one will give you the answer that validates your feelings.
You lost me.
Duck duck go or random people?
Now I’m lost, better ask DuckDuckGo or random people…
Kagi gang here. For whoever debating of it is worth the price - go for it. Worst thing that can happen is you lost like $5. Or, for tech savvy people, go for SearXNG.
Seems good, I’ll look into it
Pretty soon it’s going to just link to Google.
Google being that guy in the comments saying “just Google it bro” instead of just giving you the answer lol

Thanks AI. Remind me how many megawatt hours your model consumed to create?
@Grok is this real?
Worth every drop of water
Ah yes, the ouroboros is complete.
