Well then it’s pretty credible. The only problem is the judicial system in the USA is so fucked that a convicted felon can have the highest position in their state. And they even stated that they won’t prosecute a president no matter what crime he committed. So, what does it matter? At this point, the guy is convicted of multiple felonies and has committed multiple crimes during his term as president. And no one’s going to do anything about that.

Yeah but if you start baring criminals from political positions then you end up with the opposite problem too. A corrupt official could just have their opponents convicted

Idk if there’s a clean cut solution in terms of black and white text. Maybe in terms of enforcement and intent, but that’s always changing

He was convicted on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records and more importantly, he rallied people for an act of terrorism, namely attacking the parliament.

While I realise it’s more complicated than just a blanket ban for all criminals, in the case of Donald Trump, IMO, it really is that easy.

Edit: He also stole government documents. Another offense added to a list the US judicial system wipes its ass with.

Specifically he engaged in literally the one crime that carries a penalty including being banned from holding office (the whole insurrection thing). And the Supreme Court made up some bullshit that individual states can’t enforce it.

I’m hoping that either he will implode from embarrassment, or his base will. If we’re really lucky, maybe both?

              ~Maybe not. But a boy can dream.~

The emails seem to be real. If the people there are telling the truth, it’s your guess.
