I guess I don’t feel like they are that associated. The tv series is much better than the book ever was, at least to me.
And here I mean the gay angel and demon of course, along with gabriel. Some of the worst aspects of the show are lifted wholesale from the books like the bizarre fantasy “relationship” (prophesy-driven boning?) between the sexiest witch alive and the failure. Pratchett’s influence probably stopped the book from being worse than it was. He doesn’t seem to ever write sexy things into his stories, so I have to assume this was Gaiman doing some fantasy writing.
I did also check and it looks like he was removed prior to s2. Doesn’t completely remove him but…clearly I’m not a hard liner on this.
He wrote the tv adaptation and the 2nd (and 3rd?) season/s are his work as pTerry is dead.
And even if a new writer was brought on to make 3, it’s still an intellectual property that’s irrevocably linked to Gaiman now.
