I’m in no hurry to see it. Everyone who has says it sucks.
I’m waiting to see if they nail the ending to see if its worth watching. I’ve seen up to Season 4, but just wasn’t hyped enough to check out 5. I was the same with Season 4, but then heard enough good things about that season to give it a go.
Haven’t heard the same enthusiasm this season though like there was for 4, which I think was helped in large part by Eddie who was a solid character addition.
stranger things, castlevania are one of the few shows that survive past 2-3 seasons. but its problematic that its only 8 episodes per show, and 1-2 years in between seasons.
Why is it problematic? They need time to make good shows.
Interesting, everyone I’ve heard talk about it who has seen it says it was god awful and an insult to the original premise.
People never cease to amaze me how they’ll happy absorb whatever corporations give to them
Game of Thrones Season 8 averaged 44.2 million viewers per episode in gross audience.

For long running shows I think it leads to sunk cost that leads to people watching it even if isn’t great or they hate it just to get closure to something they followed for nearly a decade.
This is the Television community, it’s literally all corporate schlop we are happily absorbing. Just like anything else that transcends into monoculture, people will hate on Stranger Things to make themselves feel superior to everyone else.
Sure maybe the forumula is played out and it’s not as good as it used to be but it’s at least a decent watch, and people want to see how the story ends. It’s not “god awful”.
Everyone you know is full of shit. This season has been a blast.
People have just been ready to hate on it. Some of the dialogues are a little cringe, but the story and cinematography makes it worth it anyway.
If you want great TV - watch Pluribus. If you want some easy entertainment - watch Stranger Things.
for me it was the acting + writing.
Lots of expositional monologues delivered in a pushed, stressed, cadence.
In all fairness, there was not much else to watch.
There’s lot to watch if you look beyond just western media. I’ve moved to watching lot of anime and kdramas. Bloodhounds was like a live action boxing anime. And for jdrama, Gannibal which has the actor from Tokyo Vice looks interesting and series is finished, so planning to check that one out.
This is absolutely wrong.
There are piles and piles of older TV shows and movies, so much media you could never consume it all in a lifetime
True, but I really wanted to watch something new. I’m quite old now and I’ve seen Dad’s Army too many times already.
There were 3 nfl games
yay commercials.
I don’t do sport, especially American sport.
Which is undoubtedly a hard decision for some people, but that is still a single genre.
It is so much fun!
