it seems to have cutting out issues and doesn’t work well with some stuff (like a PS4 controller).

Assuming your problem is not simply distance/interference between antennas, it could be due to the chip in your bluetooth adapter. My DualShock 4 v2 works well with both my external dongle and my motherboard’s BT, but other people have not been so lucky.
