So every update we’ll have to download the individual ZIP from the github Wish there was something like Obtanium for Android but on PC / linux so we could at least be notified is a new update instead of having to check

Linux has had package management for decades and it seems like nix is a popular choice on deck. Edit: may get a built-in option for multiple stores simultaneously some day https://github.com/SteamDeckHomebrew/decky-loader/issues/746
