      Even in the 1940s there were at least some dissenting voices. It wasn’t all sycophants.

      One that comes to mind is Leo Amery, the British Empire’s secretary of state to India. In 1944, he told Churchill that there wasn’t much of a difference between his outlook and Hitler’s, while Churchill was engineering famine / genocide in India. British engineered famines killed a total of 100 million in India.

      The outcome may still the same but at least there were voices in the Empire saying what the fuck back then. Now it’s just a bunch of people that are bloodthirsty and looking acquire land.
