If you smoke, quitting is the number one thing you can do to improve your physical and mental health. Nicotine worsens anxiety and depression long-term by disrupting dopamine signaling in your brain. In the US you can call 1-800-QUIT-NOW or visit Lung.org for free evidence-based resources to help with quitting.

I switched to vaping, because I don’t currently have the capacity to quit, but, 100% on board with this.

      Do not start smoking.

Do not start vaping or chew or zynn or anything else.

Being an addict sucks, I turn into a demon when I don’t have my nicotine.

Please… seriously, do not start smoking or using any kind of nicotine … thing.

I’ve seen studies that say that nicotine withdrawl can be as bad as heroin withdrawl… and I guess let me just say that seems about right to me.

Nicotine withdrawal symptoms aren’t as bad, you won’t get all the physical ailments, but the strength of the addiction is as bad if not worse than heroin.

It being so easy to obtain is one of the biggest issues

But Nick Naylor said that nicotine is shown to reduce the risk of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Don’t tell me what to do, nicotine might be saving my life!

The negative effects on cancer and heart disease risks far outweigh benefits regarding Alzheimer’s. Smoking increases risk of lung cancer by more than 25-fold.
