I watched the game with a bunch of friends, including three Spanish-first-language speakers. Sadly I’ve not been very successful at picking up languages, so I had to suffice with enjoying the groove and tunes of the performance. But I did occasionally peek over at my friends, all of whom were paying intense attention and gave some verbal reactions a few times. There was clearly a lot of meaningful context that I’d love to be keyed into.
I’m also an anime nerd, and the subtitle work that some fans do for their favorite shows are outstanding; not just providing cogent translations of dialog, but also adding cultural reference context (usually in different colors elsewhere in the screen) relating to specific lines, actions or locations.
I really hope somebody with the skills and knowledge can put this together and find someplace to host it that won’t take it down!
Mon Feb 9 2026, 07:35 UTC update: Answering my own questions here, BlueSky user beckyhammer has provided a detailed cultural context breakdown of the imagery and references from the performance (skywriter, original thread on bsky).

I posted the BSKY link, but noticed you linked to it in the edit. One tip, though. Each time the screenshotted posts end, she continues in the reply to that post. Might be a thread-limit on bsky.
I don’t go on r*ddit much at all any more, but had to take a
bulletpeek, hoping someone had an explanation for some of the references: https://www.reddit.com/r/NoStupidQuestions/s/Y4RVLaPfsxPS: the old and new subdomain trick didn’t work for me – they’re now enforcing login. YMMV.
Side note: JFC, that place is positively larded with ads now. But the halftime show was so damn good it was worth getting slimed.
