    Supposedly he was ‘difficult’ to work with and didn’t want to continue the role. ‘Difficult’ tends to have extra meaning, so 50/50 chance it was a misdirect for him saying things the higher ups didn’t like and him not being willing to walk it back.

      It was down to the working conditions on set - they didn’t have the setup for such a big job and crew were worked too hard, with inadequate facilities and a certain deafness to the issues by the production team.

      Then, when he quit, the production team threw him under the bus. Which is why he won’t have anything to do with them now.
