An “Aegon’s Conquest” film is probably the best way to tell the story. It’s not a particularly interesting story since it’s just man (and sister-wives) steamroll Westeros with dragons.
I’m sure you could spice it up a bit, but also Aegon is a conqueror and kind of a “bad guy” in that sense. He’s just chilling at Dragonstone and Westeros is mostly just chilling doing their own thing, and he just decides naw… it’s mine now. I’m guessing they’ll add some prophecy to give him reason, we saw this touched on in season 1 of HOTD. Basically there must be a Targaryen on the throne in order to stop the white walkers. Although GOT season 8 sorta disproved that, which I guess makes the whole of Targaryen rule and Aegon’s Conquest moot. So…
Either way, could be fun, but I don’t expect a lot from it.

The specifics of Aegon’s Conquest aren’t known, just the big highlights. There isn’t likely to be a lot of background scheming and politics, because generally Aegon just shows up with a dragon and the enemy either agrees to Aegon’s demands (because dragon) or they don’t, dragon happens, and then someone else agrees.
There are bits that are interesting, but not many (which probably works fine for a film).
