Yeah, to be fair, I mostly pirate video. Music, I listen to from Tidal through USB Audio Player (Android). I only ever grab audio that’s not available on Tidal.

What video file sizes do you guys download and why? I don’t know about sizes, but I stick to 1080p remuxes, because I have brain damage that makes my anus itch just by knowing if and when the video has been re-encoded to save space. Also the blacks. :)

Who are y’alls downloading 20+GB movies? Are you storing all that or are you downmixing? Are you stealing your harddrives out of the recycle bin? If you’re only talking about the download process, and you are downloading at home, then a trustworthy VPN is the (only?) way to go. I’d look into Mullvad or IVPN.

If you’re working in the Linux console alone, you could also ssh into your Pi and, for instance, have your local machine on virtual console tty1 and the Pi on tty2, switching between them with ALT+Fx. Still only one monitor. 😜
