Would you, please, explain why you are considering switching from iOS to Android?

Right. Thankfully there is a global plastic pollution treaty in the works and organizations, such as The Ocean Cleanup, that are working to rid the oceans of plastics.

No worries.

Most of the western world is bombarded by the news media bias and fear-mongering that gets more clicks, eyes and sells more papers. Rarely are we exposed to raw data/facts which Simon Clark’s videos are based on (i.e. scientific journals, academia, etc.). In summary, the world has made a lot of progress toward mitigating climate change.

It doesn’t seem like you’ve watched the video. In summary, the world has made a lot of progress toward mitigating climate change.

…money isn’t the root of all evil…
That’s because it isn’t…to explain, many people misquote a verse from the biblical texts.
1 Timothy 6:10: “For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, and in their eagerness to be rich some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pains.”

Turns out that microplastics in human bodies may not be as bad as feared. The most recent article I read concerning this is that early findings are that normal/average amounts of cardiovascular exercise (ex. walking) per week will rid the body of microplastics through sweating.
Don’t get me wrong here. That may be good news, for now, for us humans. However, there is still a lot of research that needs to be done. Not only for its effects on humans, but all the other environmental issues as well.

Preference?

I pee what you did there.

BBC World Service covered this the other day. Seems very promising

Mozilla often shutters projects due to funding constraints or lack of adoption as well as had recent cuts to its internet advocacy staff.
Isn’t this different though? According to this web page it appears that this is a conglomerate.

Arguably, ActivityPub has its shortcomings. Also, having another protocol similar to ActivityPub creates more competition which drives innovation (and gets people away from corporate-controlled sites like Meta).

Beeper is partially open source and I’ve used it for many years now.

I’ve edited it into the body of the post. https://archive.is/TcoAi

Please, remember to be(e) nice when using Beehaw. Your comment is NOT nice.

Very good “Explain Like I’m Five” there!

I agree that you may be having this personal experience. On the other hand, I am not and have been using iOS for many years. The difference could be that I intentionally stay very informed about iOS.
I, personally, will not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
However, if you believe that you will have better experiences using Android, then please make the switch.
Back in 2007 (After many years of making a career out of using Microsoft/Windows products) I started using Linux and MacOS/iOS exclusively and have never looked back.
I have very little experience and/or knowledge of Android. So, I can’t comment on that.
