If they didn’t have double standards they’d have no standards at all.

The hypocrisy is by design: it’s how they mock and taunt you with their power.

“Never believe that [racists and bigots] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. The [racists and bigots] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past.” – Jean-Paul Sartre

You can leave the “antisemite” in, as Sartre demonstrates in the essay, “the Jew” is just a blank cypher anyway.

I’ve chosen to bring back the phrase ‘Kirk out’ in it’s later form, ‘Kirked out’ which means to lose one’s temper, go crazy, or fly into a rage.

Originating as a reference to Captain Kirk from Star Trek, it describes a sudden, intense outburst of anger after trying to remain calm. Synonyms include freaking out, flipping out, or losing it.

It was cool in the 90’s, and find it even more apt today.

As a Trekker, I just think, James T. Kirk would be so disappointed in Charlie.

It’s easy to think (especially if you never actually watched the old Star Trek) that Kirk got ladies left and right, that he’d be one of the MAGA guys, too, in our time. But nah, he was at least as philosophical as Picard in conversation and introspection. He could just kick your ass. Like Sisko (Deep Space Nine). (And he didn’t get laid nearly as much as people think. He just shared the first on-screen interracial kiss on national television.)
