Honestly the post-revolution government of Iran has been very reasonable with foreign policy. Not exactly a hermit nation but just kind of a “fuck off and leave us alone to do our thing”.
(Of course there’s also the domestic repression and support for militant groups like Hezbollah. They’re certainly not overall good people by any means.)

USA flourished with ‘trade with all nations, war with none’ for a reason. It allows us to build ties with our neighbors in a mutually beneficial relationship that increases the living standards for all.
But somehow, when you slap tariffs on everything, treat your neighbors with contempt, and openly declare that you will invade and conquer your own allies, your neighbors will decline to assist you when you need it. Why is a mystery.
