There were betrayals and brutal slayings to go around between and through the World Wars.

When I see these sorts of portrayals of communists and anarchists I always wonder why the contemporary actions of the Whites or the Fascists get to enjoy omission.

Like: Mahkno is a popular example and figure, but he and his army were a component of a larger class system. Hryhoriv, a contemporary, was a large reason for the eventual downfall of all the atamans, including Mahkno, even though Mahkno was the one who killed him.

Another example is Durruti in the Spanish Civil War, whom I admittedly don’t know a great deal about. But he died for reasons that are not clear except: war. It’s a topic of literature at any rate.

After the Republican forces lost the war it was Francoist forces that exterminated anarchists in one of many White Terrors of the 20th century.

    And...

I know this is a shitpost, but I’ll write my dissertation with these Wendy’s ketchup packets, so help me God.

And then he murders him after the revolution and everyone who visits his funeral.

            Here’s my refute.

A communist and an anarchist walk into a bar. The anarchist proceeds to get shithoused, then fights a bonehead. The commie discusses political philosophy and theory with their friends while this goes down, then criticizes the anarchist for “performative gestures” instead of strategizing for long term effective action. The anarchist has a few more shots, smokes a cigarette, and waits for the next bonehead to arrive. The commies leave after deciding on what their world will look like after the revolution but make no plans on how to kickoff the revolution.

A killing? Whoever owns the shithole dive commies and anarchists hang out in is not making a killing slinging $1.50 PBRs and $3.50 wells. If the commie really has an issue with capitalism they could a) not patronize the bar, or b) actually attempt to seize the means of production from the corporate conglomerate that owns 99% of alcohol manufacturing. The problem is that those people are out of reach, the bar owner lives in town. I would wager that the bar owner is at best a tax bracket above the anarchist and communist, both of whom have jobs themselves despite philosophical issues with capitalism. If we’re going to keep punching within the same class, at least punch the bigots.

Usually when you make a claim it’s up to you to support it with some kind of evidence.

Asking someone to refute something they disagree with is basically asking someone to prove a negative.

It applies to both statements. Ideally they would have posted examples of anarchists who sided with leftist and were killed afterwards, and you would have cited examples of anarchist siding with capitalists and then being betrayed.

Tbf there are probably examples of both scenarios, as anarchist by their own nature aren’t exactly a unified political body.

Communist Anakin: we need you for the revolution comrade.

Anarchist Padme: and after the revolution?

    Anakin: …

    Padme: …
