I know the whole point is to reveal the master plan diabolically.
Good news. The villain did a monologue while kicking the good guy’s asses. Also, it was too late even if they wanted to stop it.

If you have to look down the shaft of an arrow from the wrong end, if a man has you entirely at his mercy, then hope like hell that man is an evil man.
I like a little hybrid of this where the monologue is a stall tactic for the [curse|poison|trap|venom|etc] to take hold but it’s already too late anyway, so why not twist the knife with a good monologue?
