The youngest sibling born long after the other siblings were born in Norwegian is apparently an attpåklatt 😄
Venetian:
- (ƚe) ciacoƚe ['tʃa.kɔ.e] (gossips, chitchatting); singular (ƚa) ciacoƚa ['tʃa.kɔ.e̯a]
- ciacoƚar [tʃa.kɔ.'e̯äɾ] (to gossip, to chitchat)
Not some fancy word, I know. But it’s nice to get this sort of everyday stuff.
Such a child is called sladdbarn in Swedish.
@darklamer @osloengelen English has a term that’s sort of the opposite of that, “Irish twin.” Means a kid born less than a year after their previous sibling. Comes from the time when Irish-American immigrants were known for having lots of kids.
Veldig interessant!
The latest new word I’ve learned is this one, which I learned earlier today, Höseler:
Døgnvill is when you’re confused as to what time of day it is, like being jet-lagged without travelling.
Dagavill in Swedish if you’re interested!
Wow!!! That’s very interesting!!!
