funny thing is these cats don’t actually like belly rubs. it actually bothers them to have their vital organs touched.

My cat will literally flop over when she sees me so that I can pet her belly. Then she gets all playful and starts doing the kangaroo kicks while biting and gripping with her claws, just like she does when she’s playing with a toy. There’s a big difference between a play scratch and an attack scratch.

One of mine starts rolling like a rolling pin as soon as I open the door coming home. And he won’t stop that or jumping up my leg until I scratch him intensely. We always suspect that he grew up with dogs :)

I hear this all the time… but it’s cat by cat. I’ve currently got 3 and one is always down for belly rubs, the other 2 have to be in the mood.
