I think that’s the neat thing, that science doesn’t ever full know anything. Religion is the opposite, they “know” something and then try to prove it. Science is like “Evidence points to this, but who knows? If new evidence comes out that contradicts it we’ll look into that too”
Faith isn’t gnosis(knowledge.)
Faith is precisely believing in something without any evidence.
Thus the famous saying: it takes a leap of faith.
Of course, that’s why it’s so appealing. All gods are personal gods. A real time make believe. A real life fantasy, oh yea.

This is a big point of dogma. They search for information to verify their claims rather than letting the data speak for itself. Similar trends among flat earthers, antivaxers, and libertarians when confronted with historical examples of free markets not acting in the best interest of consumers.
That’s just a confirmation bias.
