I have never gotten a serious job in this way. It has always been word of mouth after suffering for a bit. Big tech is a scam… cyber security is a corpo buzzword. Big tech shake down. Big tech is the virus. Capitalism is the virus. They create the problem then they create the solution. It feeds itself to justify itself. They make it harder for you to opt out and they want to dumb you down. There is a judas in every group. Tech is not fun but a prision. I want to understand the cyber world because it understands me. I see it as a threat. Boomer politicians can’t figure out a PDF and they love money. It is a trojan horse… yet a slow moving train and I saw this from 100 miles away. All the techoptimist techno_tu_Rd$ and their cheap tricks. I grow stronger everyday. I was always right and I guess I just wanted to put it out there just incase there are others out here like me. Some will create excuses… I will not humor them anymore. I grow more unapologetically radical as my beliefs are proven true. There are background process in our society that determines who wins and loses. The game has been rigged for quite sometime. They are killing people with this illegal info… [You Were Wrong technotu_RdZ(https://youtu.be/btkUWwddZgQ)
Find a old beater computer install linux use a appimage for the browser? Maybe non israel owned VPN to spoof location… maybe a VPN router. I got a few wrt routers for like $40 bucks. They are killing people with this tech. Even if you don’t care about muslims the pendulum swings and this shows how we all are in danger with corpo techno cyber security slavery. The trusted source is the only source so it must be safe right?
Am I incorrect, but isn’t LinkedIn fairly useless as a site for finding new employment? From what I’ve read of it, it has devolved into just another mediocre social network with the full assortment of trolls, spammers and con-men.
Its a prime tool for mapping and maintaining your network unfortunately.
There are really 3 sides of linkedIn.
- Social media drivel
- Company advertising
- Finding jobs/employees as it has completely taken over glassdoor and indeed in the EU it seems.
I have literally never seen the social media side, but there is plenty on LinkedInLunatics. I have found multiple jobs with it though.
Finding jobs/employees as it has completely taken over glassdoor and indeed in the EU it seems.
wow, I didn’t know about glassdoor, thank you!
oh so like they are like not doing the same thing. 1000 applys no job but many free datapoints
It’s been the main channel for legitimate recruiters finding me over the past couple decades, too.
It works best if you don’t engage in the “social media” part and just use it to passively advertise yourself.
That is the best way to use LinkedIn. A buddy of mine does well in his industry and has been recruited multiple times via LinkedIn. I’ve used it to find a couple of jobs over the years and it’s pretty good for that too.
Engaging it as a social media site is where it really turns sour.
Ah, okay. that makes sense, and is good to know.
Finding employment is about the only thing I think it can be useful for. It’s the only thing I’ve ever used it for.
It’s definitely still the top, or at least top 3, places to get a white-collar job, unfortunately. I don’t know why anyone engages with the social media bullshit, they’re all insane.
Can we PLEASE stop calling everything …gate? There wasn’t even a gate involved in the first place. This naming convention fucking sucks.
Microsoft is involved, so there could be a Bill Gate.
Uh oh, it’s Gategate all over again
There wasn’t even a gate involved in the first place.
Watergate.
Your fake outrage is a distraction from the real violations that Micro$lop is committing.
My question is how. Am I too naive to believe that the browser, Firefox in my case, would stop a webpage from crawling your computer?
It looks like the attack only works on Chrome (or Chrome based browsers).
They have 2 methods for figuring out which extensions are used: asking the browser for files related to each of the 6000+ extensions they scan for, and checking the DOM for injected content
But that doesn’t mean that Firefox couldn’t be targeted in the future.
A good way to protect yourself is to use uBlock Origin or something similar, which will block the collected data from getting sent to LinkedIn
Extensions? It just said software above.
Is it actually scanning for installed software on the system or just chrome extensions?
Yeah it’s a bit dishonest
Instead of
hidden code searches their computer for installed software
I would say
hidden code searches their browser for installed extensions
And I would be very surprised if their crawler manages to somehow work on Linux…
Yikes this lawsuit needs to be huge
They cant
