You have, once again, removed the artist’s name from the image. Note that in the OP’s version ‘LINSEDITION.COM’ is displayed in the bottom right, but you’ve cropped it off. Stop doing that.

Because it is wildly disrespectful to the original artist, coming close to you tacitly trying to claim credit for creating it, and makes it harder for people to find the original source, especially if someone quotes, crossposts, forwards or otherwise repeats your post.

It’s thoroughly obnoxious behaviour, you’ve been told that repeatedly, by many people. Just stop doing it.

It helps the people who take the time to create comics we enjoy to eat and survive. These memes/comics are posted as adverts for their skills as much as they are for our enterainment.

We get free funny comics non stop. They get upvotes, people sharing, and exposure in return. That’s the deal.

Because I hate the ugliness of advertisements that make the art it is attached to, look cheap and reduce the visual experience to promote a fucking name, website or a patreon.

There is already artists who create their art ad free(like Xkcd, Cat and Girl, Between Failures, Oglaf,…etc), so why shouldn’t all the webcomic artists do the same?

That is what links are for.

Just attach a link to the post and boom. More efficient way of indicating the source.

How is it more efficient to remove credit from a comic and add ads links to the post than to just post an already attributed comic, or to post it unmodified and put the links in?

Links get lost when someone saves the image, metadata gets lost when someone screenshots the image and often isn’t preserved by the host anyway.

Why don’t you consider links advertisements? And attributing only in this way leads to people downloading the images and sharing them carelessly, without crediting the artist.

Ad is something you are forced to see. Hyperlink to author website are just a refrance which is not forced on you.

That is the difference which make one of them acceptable and the other not.
