Depends, what’s your smartphone and is it supported by either postmarketOS or ubports? Otherwise you most certainly can’t switch to a linux based os for your smartphone. Best course of action then would be to switch to a different Android Distribution e.g. /e/os or GrapheneOS.
Okay that’s good. Check out the first two links I initially posted and read the docs or go through the tutorials. Linux on phones is mostly a hands on approach, and until you try it you won’t know for sure if it works for you or not.

@DmMacniel l was thinking about uninstalling Android altogether and then installing some linux distro into my mobile phone.
