Why would we need an increase in provincial taxation? If we don’t have to send 20 billion to Ottawa next year, we can fund a lot of projects on our own without increases to the taxpayer, that money can go straight into provincial coffers.
Maybe I’m confused then over where this $20B figure is coming from? If the money the federal government is taking isn’t from a tax on oil companies, then we’re? From your statement it sounds like this money is existing taxed money by the province that then gets taken and sent to the federal government.
