It is shitty though to misgender people just because you don’t respect them. I would actually count it as discriminatory since you normally wouldn’t misgender a cis person because you don’t respect them, which makes misgendering a trans person for such motives a unique form of hostility that cis people wouldn’t usually experience.
So just please have the common curtesy to gender people correctly, even if they are assholes.

I myself, hating to be bogged down in semantics, actually dislike how “nazi” is applied too broadly, even if I agree with the sentiment. Most of the time, the more appropriate word is “fascist”, as that is a word that can be applied broadly, whereas “nazi” is one specific type of fascist that doesn’t apply as often as social media may indicate.

Dutch fascists tend to acknowledge the Banda genocide as a fun whoopsie moment. The genocide isn’t taught in Dutch school curriculums (or at least wasn’t when I attended high school), and the perpetrators are still vaguely seen as heroes of the Dutch Golden Age. So the way it plays out it can drag people in by making them feel like opposing genocide would require them to abandon national pride entirely, and they’ve already committed.
So yes, it can be fascist to acknowledge a genocide.
I don’t know how the Dutch operate, but I think I understand that. Whenever it’s mentioned by fascists, it’s not “we did this and it’s horrible”, but instead “we did this and it’s based”. Kind of like how American frontiersmen are lifted up as paragons of American Values even as they lead the US Army as they kill the natives.
People do misuse the term “tankies” a lot and it is annoying. But people like diva go “no true leftist” a lot more than liberals do. I cannot fathom why they would use a political center that would put 95% of people as right wing. I guess it fulfills the classic meme of leftists’ arch enemies being people who agree with 80% of their views. And everyone seems to throw around “nazi” in a way that makes it hard to take them seriously.
Anyway, I do dislike resorting to defederation outside of extreme circumstances. I don’t know about sh.itjust.works, but world defederated from lemmygrad after an excess of hate speech and calls to violence, so I can accept that as justified. The fact that they are still federated with ml despite unaligned values gives credibility to that. I think hexbear was more from trolling, which I would prefer be handled by mods and individual user blocking but I can understand that at a certain point that becomes unpractical.
