Human are riddled with disease and very capable of spreading it. I bet if they’d got them _off the ship _ and to proper treatment this wouldn’t have happened.

I don’t think you understand: human-to-human transmission of hantavirus is insanely rare, to the point its existence is credibly disputed as of 2021. That isn’t to say “panic” – just that this is well outside the norm for hantavirus if true.
